UNIDEMI is proud to announce that  Professor Doctor Luís Lapão, researcher at UNIDEMI, has been
invited as a guest speaker at the second edition of the Internal Medicine Conference (JOMI’25), organized by the Internal Medicine Department of ULS de Santa Maria.

The event will take place from October 8 to 10, 2025, at the Ismaili Centre in Lisbon, bringing together internists and resident physicians for three days of discussions on key topics in the field of internal medicine.
Professor Doctor Luís Lapão will deliver his lecture, “How Medicine and Engineering Can Drive AI in Clinical Practice,” on October 10, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. His participation highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing current and future challenges in healthcare.

With a program including six roundtable discussions, two keynote lectures, two debates, and two symposia, JOMI’25 aims to disseminate the latest advances in internal medicine and foster greater engagement among young physicians with this specialty.
