Seven UNIDEMI Researchers Named to the 2026 World’s Top 2% Scientists List

Seven researchers from UNIDEMI have been included in the 2026 edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists list, which recognises scientists whose research has achieved significant impact worldwide.

The researchers recognised and their respective areas of research are:

• Helena Carvalho: Operations Management and Resilient Supply Chains, Lean and Green.
• Hugo Biscaia: Strengthening of Structures Using Bonded Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites.
• Luís Lapão: Information Systems, Leadership, and Digital Transformation in Healthcare.
• Miguel Machado: Manufacturing Processes and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
• Radu Godina: Sustainability, Circular Economy, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and Lean Manufacturing.
• Telmo Santos: Manufacturing Processes and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
• Tiago Rodrigues: Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM); High-Strength Low-Alloy (HSLA) Steel.

Hugo Biscaia and Telmo Santos are also included in the list in recognition of their career-long scientific impact, further strengthening the international recognition of their work.

This distinction highlights the quality and diversity of the research conducted at UNIDEMI across fields that contribute to the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge.
