Researcher Rui Martins served as an invited speaker at PCF 2026, the Portuguese Conference on Fracture, held on 30–31 March 2026 at INEGI in Porto.
Organised by SPFIE – the Portuguese Society of Fracture and Structural Integrity, the conference brought together national and international experts, fostering knowledge exchange and discussion of recent advances in fracture mechanics and its applications in engineering and industry.
As part of the scientific programme, Rui Martins contributed to a plenary session, where he delivered the talk “Analysis and Prevention of Mechanical Failures in Industrial Equipment”.
The presentation focused on the analysis of failures in industrial equipment, addressing diagnostic methodologies, identification of damage mechanisms, and prevention strategies to enhance reliability and operational safety.
This participation as an invited speaker reflects the recognition of the work developed and further highlights UNIDEMI’s contribution to research and innovation in mechanical engineering and structural integrity.
