The thesis, titled “Integrated Management System for Patient Safety Information in the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS): A Design Science Approach” proposes a comprehensive and integrated model to manage patient safety information within the SUS, aiming to improve healthcare quality and promote a culture of safety. It applies a Design Science methodology to ensure the solution is both practical and scientifically grounded, enhancing decision-making and reducing risks in public health management.
The research is being supervised by Prof. Dr. Luís Velez Lapão, from IHMT – Universidade Nova de Lisboa; Prof. Dr. Ana Sofia Matos, from NOVA FCT ; Prof. Dr. Leila Gottem, from Escola Superior de Ciências da Saúde de Brasília, whose combined expertise in health systems, information management, and patient safety provides essential support in the development of a robust and impactful model.
