On 2 June 2026, at 11:00 AM, the Machine Laboratory, located on Floor 2 of Building 8, will host the talk “Designing Virtual Reality Before Building It”, presented by Lucas Gregory G. Almeida, PhD Candidate in Design at the Federal University of Paraná and Visiting PhD Researcher at UNIDEMI/ NOVA FCT.
As his visit to NOVA FCT comes to an end, this session will offer an opportunity to learn more about the work Lucas Gregory G. Almeida has developed during his stay, as well as to share reflections on this international research experience.
The talk will present his ongoing research project, which focuses on how the early-stage design of Virtual Reality experiences can be structured before they are built. Drawing on the principles of Axiomatic Design, the project explores how this approach can support clearer, more consistent and well-grounded development processes from the earliest stages of design
