Conclusion | PhD in Mechanical Engineering of Wagner de Campos Sabor

The public PhD defense in Mechanical Engineering of Wagner de Campos Sabor took place on December 22 at NOVA FCT.

The thesis, entitled “Development of the Friction Stir Channeling Process at the Microscale”, developed under the supervision of Professor Catarina Silva Vidal and the co-supervision of Professor Miguel Araújo Machado, focused on the development and scientific advancement of an innovative process in the field of mechanical engineering, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in manufacturing technologies and materials processing.

The examination committee was chaired by Professor Virgílio Cruz Machado and included nationally and internationally renowned academic and scientific experts, namely:

• Dr. Eduardo Perpétuo Bock, Associate Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo, Brazil;
• Dr. Virgínia Nabais Infante, Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon;
• Dr. Sérgio Oliveira Tavares, Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro;
• Dr. Telmo G. dos Santos, Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon;
• Dr. Catarina Silva Vidal, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon.

The session proceeded smoothly, highlighting the scientific rigor and relevance of the work developed.
