Conclusion | PhD in Mechanical Engineering of André Gaisita Ramalho

On December 19, the public PhD defense in Mechanical Engineering of André Gaisita Ramalho took place at the NOVA FCT, in a session open to the public.

The candidate presented the thesis entitled “Development of the Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing process monitoring and inspection system using Non-Destructive Testing”, carried out under the supervision of Professor João de Sousa Oliveira and co-supervision of Professor Telmo G. Santos. The work focused on the development of monitoring and inspection systems for wire arc additive manufacturing processes, using non-destructive testing techniques, contributing to increased reliability, quality, and control of these industrial processes.

The jury was chaired by Professor Virgílio António Cruz Machado and included the following members:

• Professor Carlos Alves da Silva, PhD, Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon;
