The candidate presented the dissertation entitled “Open and Sustainable Innovation Strategy in the Port Ecosystem: A Case Study of the Portuguese Port of Sines”, which analyzes open and sustainable innovation strategies within the port ecosystem.

The public PhD defense in Industrial Engineering and Management of Maria Rosilene Sabino took place on January 7 at NOVA FCT.

The candidate presented the dissertation entitled “Open and Sustainable Innovation Strategy in the Port Ecosystem: A Case Study of the Portuguese Port of Sines”, which analyzes open and sustainable innovation strategies within the port ecosystem, using the Port of Sines as a case study. The dissertation was supervised by Professor Maria do Rosário Cabrita, with co-supervision by Professor Tiago Simões de Pinho and Professor Ana de Jesus Mendes.

The examination committee was chaired by Professor Virgílio Cruz Machado and included academics of recognized scientific and academic merit, namely:

  • Dr. Inês de Abreu Ferreira, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon;
  • Dr. Aldora Gomes Fernandes, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra;
  • Dr. Virgílio Cruz Machado, Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon.
