PhD in Industrial Engineering | “Spare Parts Management Model in a Maintenance 5.0 Environment”

28.03.2025

On March 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM, PhD candidate David Cardoso from the Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering will present her Thesis Plan Proposal in Meeting Room 4.32, Building VIII.

The thesis, titled “Spare parts management model in a maintenance 5.0 environment” proposes a flexible spare parts management model for Maintenance 5.0, enhancing resilience and sustainability. It automates policy selection using an ABC-XYZ analysis within an MRP system, reducing manual effort, errors and improving efficiency.

The research is being supervised by Prof. Dr. Helena Guitiss Navas and Prof. Dr. Pedro Espadinha da Cruz from NOVA FCT, whose expertise in industrial engineering and maintenance management provides valuable guidance in developing a robust and sustainable model.

This presentation marks an important step in David Cardoso’s academic journey, providing an opportunity to discuss innovative methodologies and gather valuable feedback from peers and specialists in industrial engineering.
