The first edition of NOVA MATH - UNIDEMI Talks took place last March 15th, Wednesday, an event that aims to promote the sharing of knowledge and teamwork between the scientific areas of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering, through their respective Research Centers at NOVA School of Science and Technology | NOVA FCT.

This first edition of the event focused on the themes: online monitoring and data acquisition in Metal Additive Manufacturing to identify defects using artificial intelligence (and other mathematical tools); application of intelligent systems and decision sciences in supply chain management; and the commonalities between policing, production plans, fire insurance, and supply chain design and planning.
Present as speakers were Telmo Santos, Helena Carvalho, Miguel Machado and Pedro Espadinha da Cruz, Professors from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and Researchers at UNIDEMI, and Ana Luísa Custódio and Nelson Chibeles Martins, Professors from the Department of Mathematics and Researchers at NOVA MATH .
This seminar is funded by national funds through the FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P., under the scope of the projects UIDB/00297/2020 and UIDP/00297/2020 (NOVA Math – Center for Mathematics and Applications), and UID/EMS/00667/2019 (UNIDEMI – Research and Development Unit for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering).
